Two weeks ago I launched my debut novel, Last Bridge to Memphis. What a two weeks!
Thanks to some of you who are reading this post, initial sales on Amazon.com shot the book into top tier rankings — for a hot minute. I suppose that’s how those algorithms work. But once the initial sales tapered off several days later, down into the depths we went.
Someone recently posted that writers should stick to writing, and therefore, should not self-publish. Because when you self-publish you become a business. The business of selling books. And then you cease to be a writer. Well.
Tell that to the thousands of folks successfully self-publishing. It’s not easy, as I’ve mentioned before. But it’s worth it. I didn’t get into it for the business end of it, or to get rich. I did get into it because I had a unique story in my head and I wanted to share it.

Elvis, 1980s Memphis, and TV news intrigue all go well with coffee
If you’ve ordered the book, bless you. Please do take the time, when you can, to post a review on the Amazon page.
If you haven’t ordered the book yet, let me offer the words of one kind reviewer. He says, this is one purchase “you won’t return to sender.” Gotta love the Elvis-ism. I’ve been known to use a few myself.
So take care of business and get the book. See what I did there?
